This little green man from Mars resides on Earth for a period of four days, like some sort of holiday. He has long looked forward to it, for it is his first visit and he has heard a lot about the virtues to be found on planet Earth from his fellow Martians.

As it so happens, little green men from Mars are not only very, very smart, but also very thirsty all the time. Everybody knows that, right? Right.

After his arrival on Earth our Martian friend ends up in this bar and orders something to drink. The bartender pours him a Scotch whiskey with soda. Our Martian friend likes the drink, and keeps ordering the same drink all the time, the bartender keeps pouring.

On his second day, our Martian friend goes back to the same bar, and orders a similar drink to the drink he had the day before, but slightly different. The bartender pours him an Irish whiskey with soda. Our green friend loves it and... well you get the picture.

On his third day, our Martian goes to that bar again and orders again a slightly different drink from the day before, so the bartender pours him a bourbon with soda, and what occurs... yep, he likes it.

On his fourth and final day on Earth our visitor can't resist, and off he goes to the bar he knows so well by now. His order? Yes, you guessed it... something slightly different. The bartender pours him some extra-special brandy with soda, and guess what happens... the green bugger likes it.

After closing time our completely drunk (to put it nicely) Martian friend wanders off to his space-cruiser to journey back home. On his walk to his cruiser he is putting two and two together. Like we already knew, Martians are very smart people (?) and drunk or not, they always keep their cool, their wits too.

By means of immaculate reasoning; the impeccable combining of observations (Martians are quite scientific you know), and the same experience 4 days in a row, inevitability leads him to the conclusion that he must be so intoxicated because he drank soda all the time.
